Have you ever
Have you ever started to clean your work area and see this piece left over from a card a piece you cut out but then did not like? Then there were these odds and ends surrounding your work area. Now, your purpose of being here is to clean and get all the stamp sets, embossing powders, ribbon and so on put in their place. You want a nice clean area to work in instead of having to hunt for the items you need for a project you have in mind.
Well this happen to me this evening. I had to get things cleaned up, but that scrap of glimmer paper, and that circle was just laying there. There is a candy cane that I had demonstrated how to make it in a class. As both you and I know, they just had to be put together in a card.
Here is how they jumped together.
The white circle was just the right size for the penguin to fit in. Let’s give him a candy cane since it is just laying here. That’s cute. Think I will put him on this scrap of glimmer paper that I cut out while making frames for a swap I just finished. He really needs to be popped up and sponge a little with black ink around the circle. That really makes him pop up to catch your eye.
Ok, now that is finished, what can I put this on. Over to my box with left over pieces from classes and check out what I want to use. I tried several colors in the blues, tried the white, went to the greens, none of those worked. Oh, this piece of Mint Macaroon works fine.
I placed the glitter paper to the side and did not like it. I tried the middle and that was boring. Let’s let some of the Mint Macaroon show on the side but leave enough for a message. I had tried a banner for the greetings and that was to much. I Stamped “Merry Christmas” on the side by covering the Christmas with a post-it note and inking only the Merry; removed the post note and stamped the Merry. I repeated this process by covering the merry and inking the Christmas, removing the cover, and stamped the Christmas.
OK, several colors were tried for a card base and then I decided on the Shaded Spruce.
A few red and green glitter dots were added for a final “Bing”.
That was much more fun that cleaning and after all, I did use a bunch of the scraps on the table.
